Welcome to the endless changing water vistas of the Havelock Marina – located in the heart of Pelorus Sound and the Kenepuru – this is seriously authentic Sounds territory.

The fishing is great and the people are real. It’s a no-fuss sort of place where tranquility rules and surprises await discovery. Out towards Cook Strait lie the offshore islands – D’Urville, Stephens, the Chetwodes and many more glorious beaches and coves waiting to be explored.

Havelock offers great hospitality and is known as the green lipped mussel capital of the world. The marina has 340 berths for vessels from 10 to 30 metres and has all the services you would expect in a small, smart working port.

The heart of the Marina is the Slip Inn Brasserie and Bar – offering a great selection of New Zealand seafood served with integrity and passion. Where we can it’s absolutely fresh - we choose our suppliers and stakeholders with great care to deliver the very best the region and coastal waters around us deliver.

The food is matched with an outstanding selection of non-alcoholic beverages, regional and national fine wines, beer and of course a full range of spirits – not forgetting the coffee and tea range.

Slip Inn Brasserie and Bar is the essence of manaakitanga - the process of showing respect, generosity and care for others. If you are an old friend, you will notice a significant change in what we offer – restaurants that succeed are constantly evolving and growing to reflect the enormous changes in the demographics of the location over the past 7 years. The Slip Inn – Tamar Farm Connection

Slip Inn owners since 2015, Richard and Chrissie Wright are beef, cropping and dairy farmers on their Mid Canterbury 1470 hectare property near Mt Somers – The farm is named Tamar. Chrissie was brought up firstly on Arapawa Island and then in Pelorus Sound where her brother and his family still farm today. We are privileged to share their Tamar homegrown, grass fed beef as part of our menu completing the paddock to plate concept – enriching the heritage heartland New Zealand culinary links which is a hallmark of our menu.
